Fall '14 rtw collections

Picked some AW '14 looks from some shows. Seems like it's gonna be a fuzzy season and we can see a whole lot of cozy, wrapped up goodness like these blanket poncho looks.

 Sacai and Burberry Prorsum

Turtlenecks, long, soft, and slouchy.

Acne

Cozy from head to toe:
 Marc Jacobs

Really lovin' that long slouchy coat look with the belt:
 Marni

Pastel, layered and shaggy:
Chloe

Teddy bear fur and more shagginess in pastels:
 Gucci

Checks and animal print:
Celine

More wrapping and layering:
 Prabal Gurung

Checks and more turtlenecks
 3.1 Phillip Lim

More slouchy sweaters and cozy outerwear:
Isabel Marant

Masculine oversized coats and more fuzzy coats:
Miu Miu

Lastly, I've been looking forward to this show, not only because I love MJ but also because it's the first Marc by Marc Jacobs show since Luella Bartley (an English designer who I absolutely loved for all the pretty and girly things she came up with before her label folded!) joined the team. I must say that I'm not disappointed. I love the graphic moto-inspired details, especially on those jeans, and the über cool styling. And we spot yet another masculine and long oversized coat.

NYFW Spring 2014 Trendspotting

First of all, let me just say how happy I am that BIRKS are back! Birkenstocks were spotted all over the spring runways. Loving the all-white look (second in the photo) by Edun.

Button-down shirts were everywhere as well: layered, cropped, and the classic crisp white variety in updated silhouettes. Here are some looks by Peter Som.

More all-white looks with button-down shirts by Rag & Bone and Prabal Gurung.

One of my fave trends this season, cropped tops will apparently continue their reign. Seen on the runways in all shapes and sizes for next spring. A lot of the tops don't show a whole lot of tummy and were paired with high-waisted skirts and pants.

Looks from Madrid-based Delpozo

Rodarte and Alexander Wang. I'm in love with this A. Wang cropped top.

More cropped button-down shirt looks from Alexander Wang

I'm loving these layered/tiered bottoms:

Theysken's Theory

Hurray for more comfortable footwear! Aside from Birkenstock sandals, sneakers were also seen in various collections.

Looks by Karen Walker with pastel hues and sneakers. I love the boxy and short cross-body bag.

More pastel hues and sneakers at the Marc by Marc Jacobs show.

It's only the beginning of fashion month. More shows, more looks, and more spring 2014 trends to come in the following weeks from our favorite designers. There are just way too many of them but it's always fun to have a little look.

NYFW x '90s nostalgia

New York Fashion week has started and look who were spotted outside the shows looking more fashionable than ever in all their street style glory; only my favorite cartoon characters from my (awesome) childhood in the '90s! I love all the illustrations especially because the artists at Swagger New York tried to match the personalities of the characters to the designers they are wearing. I can totally see Sailormoon in Rodarte, Beavis and Butthead in Jeremy Scott, and I never would have imagined a fashion forward Daria in Prabal Gurung but she looks amazing. Pure genius.
